Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU Flex Pool

Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Night Shift)

Job Description

• Work in an ICU flex pool setting.
• Scheduled every other weekend.
• Holiday coverage includes July 4th and every other holiday.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa
• Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Health and Safety Requirements

• Fit test required.
• Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen (9 or 10 panel) completed within 30 days of start; must be negative and include MRO signature.
• COVID-19 vaccine proof required (including booster by Sept 2025) or approved exemption/declination (declination not accepted in CA or IL).
• Influenza vaccine proof or declination accepted (optional).
• MMR: Proof of 2 vaccinations or IgG titer required.
• Hepatitis B: Must have started vaccination series prior to start; titers not accepted.
• Varicella: Proof of vaccination or IgG titer required.
• Tdap: Current, non-expired vaccine required; declination accepted if no pediatric interaction.
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) required; positive TB requires chest x-ray per regional guidelines.
• Physical/Health Statement confirming fitness to work within the last year.

Background and Compliance

• Federal, nationwide, and county criminal background check covering last 7 years, including SSN verification, dated within 30 days of start.
• Iowa-specific criminal history, sex offender, dependent adult & child abuse registry checks required.
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) and OIG (Office of Inspector General) exclusion checks within 30 days of start.
• NSO (National Sex Offender) check dated within 30 days of start.
• Trinity Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Conflict of Interest Disclosure, Integrity and Audit Services Form, and Non-Employee Upload Form must be signed and on file.
• Trinity I9 form completed by agency.
• Trinity System Access Form must be completed and uploaded one week before start.
• Trinity Joint Commission CORE exam within the last year.

Documentation Required Before Start

• Resume and skills checklist within the last year.
• Two professional references.
• Education verification (degree or diploma/GED).
• Specialty competency exam.
• All required certifications and licenses with scanned copies (front and back where applicable).
• Drug screen and health history documentation uploaded to candidate record system.

Additional Notes

• Agency will provide specialty skills checklist for clinical contractors.
• Assignment includes night shifts and holiday coverage.
