Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU Flex Pool

Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Job Description

• Work in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
• Schedule includes every other weekend and holidays (including July 4th every other year).

Required Qualifications

Licensure

• Valid RN license in Iowa.

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year.

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Fit test for respiratory protection.
• Trinity 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days prior to start (includes testing for multiple substances; THC not accepted).
• COVID-19 vaccination proof including booster by September 2025, or approved declination/exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL).
• MMR vaccination proof (2 doses or IgG titer).
• Hepatitis B vaccination series initiated prior to start (titers not accepted).
• Influenza vaccine proof or declination (optional).
• 2-step PPD or IGRA TB test with chest x-ray if positive (per regional requirements).
• Varicella vaccination proof or IgG titer.
• Current physical/health statement confirming fitness to work (exam within last year).
• Current Tdap vaccine or declination if no pediatric interaction.

Background and Compliance

• Federal, nationwide, and county criminal background check covering last 7 years, including SSN verification, dated within 30 days of start.
• Iowa-specific criminal history, sex offender, dependent adult & child abuse registry checks (within 30 days prior to start).
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) and OIG (Office of Inspector General) exclusion checks dated within 30 days.
• NSO (National Sex Offender) check dated within 30 days.
• Trinity Code of Conduct, Conflict of Interest Disclosure, Integrity and Audit Services, Confidentiality and Security Agreements, and other professional compliance forms must be signed and on file.
• Standard I-9 verification completed by agency.
• Trinity System Access Form completed and uploaded one week before start.

Documentation Required Before Start

• Resume and skills checklist within the last year.
• Two professional references.
• Education verification (highest degree or diploma/GED).
• Specialty-specific competency testing results.
• All required certifications and licenses with scanned copies (front and back of cards where applicable).
• Drug screen and health history documentation uploaded to credentialing system.

Additional Notes

• Agency will provide the clinical skills checklist for onboarding.
• Influenza vaccine is optional but recommended.
• Declinations for vaccines require agency letterhead documentation.
• Assignment includes holiday coverage on July 4th every other year.
