Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Wilson, North Carolina

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work in a 26-bed Emergency Department with a patient ratio of approximately 1:4-5, flexible based on acuity.
• Patient population includes all ages.
• Equipment includes GE monitors and standard ED equipment.
• Electronic Health Record system: Meditech (experience preferred).
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36.
• Weekend hours: Every other weekend.
• No call requirements.
• Float assignments as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), CPI, and American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (Multi State Cert) (ABCP).
• Education: Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.

Work Environment & Culture

• Common diagnoses treated include respiratory distress, overdose, congestive heart failure (CHF), dialysis patients, and hypertension (HTN).
• Dress code: Scrubs of any color allowed; no unacceptable attire specified.

• Orientation occurs bi-weekly.
• Facility is Joint Commission accredited with 294 beds.
• Located 45 miles east of Raleigh, NC, near major universities and recreational areas.
• No prior travel experience explicitly required.
