Labor and Delivery RN (Night Shift) - New Jersey
Job Details
- Location: Denville, New Jersey
- Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
- Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (1900-0730)
- Schedule Requirements: Must be able to work weekends and holidays
- Specialty: Labor and Delivery (Level 2)
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of Level 2 Labor and Delivery experience
- Standards Followed: AWHONN standards
Required Certifications and Licenses
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in New Jersey
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association or Red Cross
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – American Heart Association or Red Cross
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – American Heart Association, Red Cross, or NALS accepted
- AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring certification
- Nursys license verification (primary source verification required within 30 days of start)
Required Exams and Testing (Must score 80% or higher)

- Basic Rhythm Interpretation Screening

- Workplace Violence Prevention (DCI/BVP)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccine: 2 doses plus booster or completed declination
- Influenza vaccine or declination (required November 1 – March 31)
- MMR: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Varicella: Vaccination or immunity titer
- Tdap vaccine (declination not accepted in some states)
- Hepatitis B: Record of 3 immunizations, immune titer, or declination accepted
- TB test within 1 year of start date
- Annual respirator fit test (3M 1860(s) mask or facility-approved alternative)
- Annual physical/health statement confirming clearance to work
Additional Onboarding Requirements
- National criminal background check within one year of start date (state-specific exceptions apply)
- Drug screening: Minimum 10-panel test including THC within 60 days of start
- Driver’s license, state ID, or passport
- Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9 or agency attestation)
- Job description signed by employee (current within the year)
- Resume reflecting accurate and recent work history (required at offer acceptance)
- Two professional references, including one from a manager or direct supervisor
- Badge photo (clear headshot with plain background)
- Agency attestation and exclusion list (SAM/EPLS) search
- Orientation packet completion (Essentials form and post-test)
- Name verification affidavit if discrepancies exist
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross
- ACLS certification
- NRP certification
- AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring certification
- Intermediate fetal monitoring skills
- Workplace Violence Prevention training (DCI/BVP)
