    Sonographer – Tacoma, Washington

    Job Details

    • Specialty: Ultrasound Tech
    • Location: Tacoma, Washington
    • Contract Length: 13 weeks
    • Shift: Nights (8:30 PM to 7:00 AM, Tuesday through Friday, with some flexibility)
    • Hours: 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week
    • Weekend Requirements: Weekend call from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (optional)
    • Call Requirement: No call or standby required
    • Orientation: 1-2 weeks depending on experience

    Department & Work Environment

    • Department: Radiology – Ultrasound
    • Number of rooms: 4 (2 outpatient, 2 inpatient)
    • Imaging types: Head and neck, whole body, some procedures (no musculoskeletal or vascular)
    • Average scans per day: 30-40 per 10-hour shift shared among 4 techs
    • Equipment: GE and Phillips ultrasound machines
    • EMR/PACS systems: EPIC and McKesson PACS
    • Radiologist: In-house
    • Registered Radiology Assistants (RRA): Yes
    • IV starts: Not required
    • Scrubs: Light blue scrubs provided or bring your own

    Required Qualifications

    • BLS Certification
    • RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer)
    • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Abdomen (RDMS-AB) via ARDMS
    • Experience with head and neck scans and whole body scanning
    • OB certification is helpful but not required

    Additional Notes

    • No floating or coverage of other areas required
    • Holiday work is optional if openings exist
