Job Description

Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Room specialty. The role involves providing emergency nursing care in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Florida
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification

Additional Required Health and Compliance Documentation

• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella (two vaccines, serological evidence, or verified history; no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
  • Influenza vaccine during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA test, chest X-ray if positive, and annual TB questionnaire
• Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite)
• Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• Color vision test (completed prior to start and updated every 3 years)

Competency and Skills Testing

• Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics, and specialty-specific skills (minimum 80% passing score, two attempts allowed)
• EKG exam with passing score of at least 80%, updated every 3 years
• Unit-specific checklist (optional for onboarding)
• Cerner electronic health record test and training checklist

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Emergency Room Nursing
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience, including experience within the last year
• Prior travel experience: Minimum 1 year
