Job Details

• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shift (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
• Hours per week: 48
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Department experience
• Prior travel experience: Required (must have completed at least one prior travel contract)
• Licensure: Valid New Jersey nursing license or Compact license
• Certifications:

  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Epic electronic health record experience required
• High volume/fast pace ED experience preferred

Orientation & Onboarding

• Orientation includes virtual and in-person components; full completion is mandatory
• Virtual Welcome meeting and online HealthStream modules must be completed by the first Monday
• In-person classes typically held Tuesday through Thursday; location details provided via HealthStream
• Unit-based orientation schedule provided by manager
• Badge ID appointment required during orientation; photo submissions not accepted
• Failure to complete orientation results in immediate termination; no rescheduling of classes allowed

Scheduling

• Weekend shifts: Every other weekend or 3 per month depending on needs
• Holidays: None required
• Return to Office (RTO) requests: No more than 3 days accepted
• No block scheduling or special shift requests allowed

Additional Requirements & Compliance

• Must comply with background checks, drug screening, immunizations (COVID-19, Influenza, Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, TdaP), physical exam, and other standard healthcare employment verifications
• Must pass competency exams and skills checklists
• Required to maintain confidentiality and complete core mandatory annual training
• Compliance with various screenings and attestations including FACIS, NURSYS, and sanction checks
