Registered Nurse - Operating Room (Travel)

Location

  • Lafayette, Indiana

Position Details

  • Employment Type: Travel
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Four 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM) with rotating day off
  • Weekend call rotation required (weekday and weekend call responsibilities)
  • Number of Openings: 1
  • Unit has 10 Operating Rooms
  • Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC

Role and Specialty

  • Specialty: Operating Room (Surgical First Assistant role)
  • Department: Surgery
  • Role includes assisting in Cardiovascular/Thoracic (CVOR/Open Heart) surgeries and ability to scrub other cases as needed
  • Patient types include General, Orthopedic, Spine, Neuro, Gynecology, ENT, Robotics, Urology, Podiatry, Vascular, and Open Heart surgeries

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Indiana
  • Minimum 3 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) First Assist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) credential
  • NBSTSA Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Operating Room (OR) experience
  • Thoracic Surgery experience
  • Vascular Surgery experience
  • Ability to function as both a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) and Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) depending on case needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Robotics training

Additional Information

  • Must be positive, self-starting, attentive, able to anticipate needs, and adaptable to changing situations
  • Scrubs provided (surgery scrubs)
  • No float requirements
