Description
Registered Nurse - Telemetry Stepdown
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: Nights and every other weekend
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Float Assignments: CVSU, Cardiopulmonary, Heart and Vascular Step Down, Complex Medical Stepdown, Cardiology Telemetry Stepdown
Unit Description
- 28-bed Cardiac Medical Stepdown unit specializing in recovery after vascular and electrophysiology procedures
- Care for patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI), cardiac arrhythmias, syncope, cardiomyopathy, and heart failure
- Provides cardiac monitoring for all patient populations
- Manages titration of multiple intravenous medications and conscious sedation for cardioversions
- Suitable for nurses interested in transitioning to an ICU setting
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Stepdown nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Telemetry and Stepdown experience
- Ability to interpret heart rhythms
- Experience with cardiac drips such as amiodarone, Lasix, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, milrinone, etc.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
