Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical Stepdown

Job Summary
Provide specialized nursing care on a 29-bed medical stepdown unit focused on patients with acute MI, cardiac arrhythmias, cardiomyopathy, CHF, and other low-risk cardiac/chest pain diagnoses. The unit also serves patients requiring cardiac monitoring from various specialties including cardiology, renal, endocrinology, general medicine, pulmonology, gastroenterology, and oncology.
Unit Highlights
- Care includes infusion therapy, transfusions, injections, and central line care.
- Staff trained in non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (Bi-PAP, C-PAP, A-PAP).
- Patient care assistants support with ADLs, point-of-care glucose testing, and 12 Lead EKGs.
- Dedicated stroke unit; all RNs are NIH Stroke Scale certified.
Shift Details
- 8-week contract
- 3x12 hour night shifts per week
- Work up to every other weekend
- Approximately 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of Stepdown nursing experience within the last year
- Telemetry experience
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
