Description

Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Akron, Ohio
Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule Details:

  • 3rd shift (night)
  • 3 twelve-hour shifts or 4 ten-hour shifts
  • Rotating weekends
  • 1 day of call per month, holidays as needed

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in Ohio
  • ARRT (CT) certification
  • Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS certification

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) must be carried on assignment
  • Background check required prior to start, including:
    • FCRA compliant 7-year search (SSN trace, counties, states, nationwide, sex offender, OFAC, FACIS Level 3, education verification)
    • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Fingerprinting:
    • Must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract
    • FBI and BCI fingerprint results required within 12 months of start and updated annually
    • Radiology/Cardiology specialties (except X-Ray Techs and MRI Techs) cannot start with pending fingerprint results
    • Facility will conduct additional fingerprinting onsite
  • Education verification required for all candidates
  • State license primary source verification within 30 days of start for new and extension contracts
  • Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually
  • Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to safely perform job functions
  • Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually (3M 1860 small/regular or 1870+)
  • Tdap vaccine every 10 years (medical exemptions reviewed case-by-case; religious exemptions not accepted)
  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold/T-Spot) within 6 months of start; chest x-ray required if prior positive TB test
  • Annual TB questionnaire if history of positive TB test
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
  • Hepatitis B: titer, series, or declination documented
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; booster if titer negative or equivocal
  • Annual 10-panel drug screen (instant drug screens not accepted)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 – Mar 31)

Employment History & References

  • Employment application must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar specialty area
  • Two professional references within 1 year of start from manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director (co-worker references not accepted)

Onboarding & Facility Requirements

  • Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome; video must be watched before test)
  • Badge photo required prior to start for clearance
  • Travelers with breaks in employment longer than 6 months at this facility must complete modules again
  • Legal name must be used in onboarding system; name changes require notification to licensing team
  • Modules and onboarding process typically take multiple days and must be prioritized

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

This position requires a dedicated CT Tech with solid experience in Radiology/Cardiology, who is prepared to work night shifts with rotating weekends and occasional call. Compliance with all licensing, health, and onboarding requirements is mandatory for assignment start and continuation.
