Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Jackson, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 3 shifts per week (Monday-Friday)
• Weekend shifts and/or on-call as needed (1-2 weekends per month)
• Holidays and weekends required if needed
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed

Job Description

• Circulating nurse role in all surgical areas except cardiovascular surgery
• Experience required in circulating for cases including:

  • Craniotomies
  • Laparoscopic procedures
  • Endovascular
  • General surgery
  • Orthopedics
  • Neurosurgery
  • Gynecology
  • Urology
  • Robotics-assisted surgeries

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Minimum 2 years of OR circulating nurse experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during work hours
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
• Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands
• N95 Fit Test within 1 year (annual update required; no PAPR allowed)
• Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year or clear chest X-ray if prior positive
• Required immunizations or titers with boosters as needed:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer or series; declination form required if booster declined)
  • Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (11/1 - 3/31); no exemptions accepted
• COVID vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption prior to start
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Completed employment application/resume
• Skills checklist as applicable to specialty

Background and Compliance

• Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including nationwide and international if applicable
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
• EPIC test-out required prior to or shortly after start (one attempt only; failure results in contract cancellation)
• Appearance standards must be reviewed and signed prior to start

• Locals and first-time travelers are accepted at the same rate
• Clinician interview required before placement
