Radiologic Technologist - Computed Tomography

Location

• Novi, Michigan

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Perform computerized tomographic (CT) radiological procedures under general supervision.
• May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations.
• Prepare patients and explain examination procedures.
• Review clinical data and obtain additional patient medical history as needed.
• Set up equipment, perform CT scans, and manually control equipment to obtain diagnostic images.
• Administer intravenous contrast media using power injectors and monitor patients for reactions.
• Assist Radiologist with complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies.
• Apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure (shielding, equipment settings, ALARA techniques).
• Manage images and study indexing in PACS and Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Document all procedures and clinical information in medical records and radiology systems.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service, communication, teamwork, and respect.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Work may be in hospital fixed units or ambulatory mobile units.
• Potential exposure to radiation and high-voltage equipment.
• Possible exposure to contagious patients.
• Occasionally lift or move equipment or patients over 10 lbs.

Shift and Hours

• 4 shifts of 10 hours each (4x10’s)
• Every other weekend
• Night shift: 9pm to 7am

Unit

• Emergency Room (ER), Inpatient, and Outpatient settings

Trauma Level

• Level 2

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
• Registered or registry-eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and advanced registry in Computed Tomography (CT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent or maintenance of required hours of continued medical education.
