Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

Location: Denmark, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Shift: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (approximately 36 hours per week)
• Caseload: 10-12 cases daily
• On-call: Not required
• Weekend Work: Not required
• Floating: No floating between service lines or sister facilities

Required Qualifications

• Cardiac Sonographer with a minimum of 2 years of experience
• Cardiac Sonographer experience within the last year
• Vascular Sonographer experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• RDCS or RCS certification
• RVT certification

Important Notes

• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks
• Hurricane Season: Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November, peak in August and September). New or extended assignments during this time should be considered carefully.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Licensure:

  • Active, unencumbered license with primary source verification required
• Background Checks:

  • Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
  • Includes SSN trace, state and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, and healthcare exclusion lists
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet job demands
  • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start; if positive, chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, and Tdap (within 10 years or declination form)
  • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; if declined, must complete vaccination declination form
  • Annual respirator medical clearance required for patient-facing roles
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) AHA or RQI acceptable
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) AHA or American Red Cross acceptable
• Competency Exams: Required as applicable
• Color Blind Testing: Required prior to start
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Employment Verification: Last 3 clinical employers verified

Orientation & Onboarding

• Modules: Mandatory completion of orientation modules prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
• Photo for Badge: Clear, passport-style photo with solid light background, business casual attire, no hats or sunglasses, must be submitted by Wednesday before start
• First Day Instructions: Provided after client clearance; includes login info for required platforms
• Vaccination Documentation: Upload COVID and flu vaccine records (flu vaccine required during flu season or medical/religious exemption accepted)
