Occupational Therapist - Acute Care Hospital

Location: Maryville, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide occupational therapy services primarily in acute/swing bed and hospital outpatient settings.
• Coverage focus is on acute/swing bed patients.
• Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM (40 hours/week).

Required Qualifications

• Valid Occupational Therapist license in Missouri.
• Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC accepted).

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID.
• Background check within 30 days of start, including:

  • National criminal check, state and county searches (10 years), SSN trace, sex offender registry, and FACIS Level 3.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
• Education verification with official transcript or diploma including graduation date.
• Missouri EDL Search within 30 days of start.
• Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually).
• Drug screen within 30 days of start (not required annually), covering a comprehensive panel of substances.
• Immunization and health requirements:

  • Flu vaccine for the 2025-26 season or approved medical/religious exemption (mask required if exempt).
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year; additional requirements if positive.
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination/declination for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella.
• Fit mask testing completed onsite at orientation.

Certifications & Competencies

• BLS certification (AHA or ARC).
• Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam is not required for Occupational Therapists (only for RNs/LPNs).
• Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual and pass/fail testing policies.

Additional Requirements

• Completion and signing of facility-specific confidentiality agreement, code of conduct, demographic form, and orientation quiz prior to start.
• Two professional references within the last 3 years.
• Employment application and verification of most recent employer required.
• Skills checklist completion required.
