Description

Registered Nurse - Cath Lab

Location: Mason City, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 07:00 AM - 03:30 PM
On-Call: Every 3rd weekend and 2 days per week on call


Job Description

  • Start time at 7:00 AM with variable end times
  • On-call responsibilities as noted above

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Iowa
  • Cardiac Cath Lab experience of at least 1 year, with experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification
  • NIHSS certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Health & Compliance Requirements

  • Fit Test
  • Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen (completed within 30 days of start; no THC)
  • COVID-19 vaccine proof (including booster by Sept 2025) or approved exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL)
  • MMR: Proof of 2 vaccinations or IgG titer lab report
  • Hepatitis B: Must have started vaccination series prior to start (titers not accepted)
  • Influenza vaccine (optional)
  • 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with chest x-ray if positive TB as per regional requirements
  • Varicella: Proof of vaccination or IgG titer lab report
  • Physical/Health Statement confirming fitness to work (exam within last year)
  • Current, non-expired Tdap vaccine or declination if no pediatric interaction

Professional & Background Checks

  • Resume and skills checklist within the past year
  • Two professional references
  • Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county for last 7 years, including SSN verification; must be dated within 30 days of start)
  • Education verification (highest academic degree or diploma/GED)
  • EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check dated within 30 days
  • OIG (Office of Inspector General) exclusion check dated within 30 days
  • NSO (National Sex Offender) check dated within 30 days
  • Iowa-specific criminal history, sex offender, dependent adult & child abuse registry checks (within 30 days prior to start)
  • Conflict of Interest Disclosure Form
  • Code of Conduct Form
  • Confidentiality and Information System Security Agreement
  • Integrity and Audit Services Form (signed shortly before start)
  • Non-Employee Upload Form (pages 1-3 and 28)
  • System Access Form (completed and uploaded one week before start)
  • Joint Commission CORE Exam within the past year
  • Child and Adult Dependent Abuse Training (Iowa only)
  • OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) sanctions check within 30 days

Additional Notes

  • Agency will provide specialty skills checklist for clinical contractors
  • All required documents and verifications must be uploaded to the credentialing system prior to onboarding
  • License and certification scans must include front and back of cards where applicable

This position requires a dedicated RN with Cath Lab experience, able to work early shifts with on-call duties, and meet comprehensive health, licensure, and compliance requirements.
