Description
Registered Nurse - PACU
Location: Denver, Colorado
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 10 AM start
Hours: 9 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Job Summary
- Perform independent nursing and delegated medical functions according to state Board of Nursing standards.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
- Continuously evaluate patient health status through data collection and assessment.
- Provide health teaching and counseling.
- Deliver supportive and restorative therapy and treatment directly or through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching.
- Execute delegated medical functions and refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed.
- Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.
- Document care in compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
- Utilize resources efficiently.
- May float to other departments within competency and qualifications.
- May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.
- Cross-coverage in pre-op and 4x9 weekday schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in PreOp / PACU - Post Anesthesia Care.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Advanced certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Demonstrated experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Proficient in resource utilization within clinical settings.
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Previous experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Certification relevant to the unit or service.

- Therapy and treatment planning, execution, and monitoring.
- Patient referral and resource utilization.
- Medical function execution and documentation.
