Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Home Health
Location
- Hinesville, Georgia
- Coverage includes Long, Liberty, and Bryan counties
- Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from home clinic
- Average daily travel: 30-60 miles
Contract Details
- Travel/Contract position
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (5x8 hours)
- Includes once a month weekend rotation
- Visits both patient homes and care facilities
Job Description
- Provide and coordinate home nursing care according to physician orders and agency policies
- Supervise and evaluate Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses
- Manage an average caseload of 5-8 patients per day
- Types of visits include Start of Care, Wound Care, Follow-up Visits, etc.
- Documentation and travel are part of daily responsibilities
- Use of electronic medical records (EMR) systems: HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB), OASIS, and Outlook
- Dress code: Scrubs
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Georgia
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of recent Home Health experience within the last year, including experience working with adult patients
- Hospice experience is also acceptable
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Proficiency with HomeCare HomeBase required
- Experience in a Home Health setting

- Recent specialty experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
Work Environment & Expectations
- No guaranteed hours; patient census may vary
- Floating to nearby clinics may be available if hours are low
- On-call requirements vary; typically includes once a month weekend rotation
- Weekend requirements vary; discuss during interview
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Must complete and maintain all required background checks, including but not limited to:
- 7-year background check covering all locations lived/worked/schooled
- Sex offender and state-specific registry checks
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG screenings
- Fingerprinting as required by state regulations
- Must provide proof of required immunizations and health screenings, including:
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination
- COVID-19 vaccination series or documented declination
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug test required
- Must complete all required facility-specific compliance documents and training prior to start, including:
- HIPAA and privacy policies
- Code of conduct and confidentiality agreements
- Home Health Core Policy and Scenarios
- Compliance training and quizzes
- COVID-19 policy and attestation
- Must maintain personal or auto insurance policy under candidate’s name or list candidate as a driver
References & Work History
- Two professional references required
- Verification of at least two most recent employers or last 7 years of work history
This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with recent home health or hospice experience who are comfortable managing a patient caseload independently, traveling within a defined territory, and working with electronic documentation systems.
