Registered Nurse (ICU) - Minnesota, Fergus Falls

Job Details

• Shift: Day/Night rotation
• Hours: 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week
• Unit Size: 5 beds
• Patient Ratio: 2 patients per RN
• Orientation: 1-2 shifts floor-specific orientation
• Floating: Med Surg unit

Work Environment & Patient Care

• Common Diagnoses: Stroke (including TPN administration), STEMI, non-STEMI
• Drips Administered: Cardizem, Insulin, Propofol, Versed, Vasopressors
• Ventilator: Hamilton C-1
• Support Staff:

  • Respiratory Therapist on site until 6pm, on-call with 10-minute response after
  • Pharmacy available in-house until 10pm, remote after
  • Nurse aides as needed
  • Tele/Monitor techs available
• Charge Nurse: None
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holidays: 7 major holidays observed; work scheduled accordingly
• Scrub Colors: Royal Blue for RNs, Steel Gray for CNAs

Systems & Tools

• EMR Systems: Paragon-Hospital, Allscripts Touch Works-Clinis

Required Certifications

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• PALS
• TNCC

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license appropriate for ICU specialty
• Experience in ICU nursing (minimum 1 year recommended based on specialty)

Additional Notes

• Hospitalist available in-house
• No IV team; RN responsible for IV management
• Prior travel experience not specified or required

This position is suitable for ICU RNs seeking a 13-week contract with day/night rotating 12-hour shifts in a small ICU setting with a focus on critical cardiac and stroke patients.
