Description
Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (6:45 AM – 3:15 PM)
Call: Expectation to take 1/4 of total call including weekends
Return to Office (RTO): No more than 5 days approved
Job Description
- Assist Interventional Radiologist in minimally invasive, image-guided vascular procedures including scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating.
- Operate imaging equipment such as fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT), and ultrasound.
- Common procedures include abdominal aortograms with runoff, fistulagrams, carotid angiograms, and EVARs.
- Must be able to operate fluoroscopy and C-arm equipment.
- Work environment includes 2 endovascular suites and open procedure ORs.
- Use of Philips Epiq 7G, Parks Flo-Lab 2100SX, PenVasc reporting software, and Epic/CareConnect EMR.
- Average patient volume: approximately 20 patients per day.
- Surgical scrubs provided.
- Lab ratio approximately 2 Radiologic Technologists to 1 Registered Nurse.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with experience within the last year
- BLS certification
- ARRT certification
- ARRT(N) certification
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED)
Eligibility
- Traveler’s permanent address must be more than 100 miles from the facility location to apply.
Certifications
- ARRT certification required.
- BLS certification required.
- Ohio state radiologic license required.
- ACLS may be required depending on unit specifics (check with recruiter).
- Other certifications (e.g., PALS, NRP) may be required based on assignment specifics.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- 7-year background check completed within 1 year before start date, including SS trace, county searches, nationwide criminal search, sex offender search, and sanctions screening.
- Negative 9 or 10 panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start (marijuana tested; medical marijuana use not accepted).
- Physical exam within 2 years prior to start, indicating clearance to work without restrictions.
- Respirator fit test documentation within 1 year of start, renewed annually (must be completed prior to start; no onsite fit testing available).
- Immunizations and titers required: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination), and TB screening (2 PPDs, QGold, TSpot, or MTB within 6 months).
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required.
- Ohio-specific fingerprinting and background checks as applicable.
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam within 7 days of signing, valid within 2 years.
- Color blindness testing required with 100% pass rate; in-person testing if online test failed.
- Unit-specific competency exams including EKG/dysrhythmia exams as applicable.
Additional Notes
- Surgical scrubs are provided.
- EPIC charting system used.
- Call and weekend coverage required as part of the role.
- Must comply with facility policies including confidentiality, internet use, and acceptable use policies.
- Driver’s license required if job duties include driving.
- Fingerprinting required on or before orientation day for local candidates.
- Candidates must complete and sign facility-specific agreements prior to start.
This position is ideal for a Radiologic Technologist with vascular interventional experience seeking a travel contract in Ohio with a structured day shift and call responsibilities.
