Cath Lab Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Weston, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
  • Hours per week: 40
  • Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Teaching hospital
  • Total Staffed Beds: 230
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Scrub Color: Ceil Blue
  • Parking: Free in unrestricted spaces
  • On-call Requirement: Approximately 9 call shifts in a 5-week period
  • Floating: Yes, floating within scope to meet facility needs
  • Block Schedule: Not accommodated
  • Locals accepted at same rate
  • Pending license accepted

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse license in Florida
  • Minimum 1.5 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, with experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – must have at time of submission
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – must have at time of submission
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) – must obtain prior to start

Licensure

  • Active Registered Nurse license for Florida required
  • Primary source verification required within 30 days of start
  • AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Florida-specific)

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Drug screen: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (no Florida Medical Marijuana card accepted)
  • Physical exam within 6 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Required immunizations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Seasonal influenza vaccination required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
  • COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required

Onboarding & Training

  • Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start is mandatory
  • Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; cannot be completed on a phone
  • Modules include COVID documentation submission and other compliance training
  • Pass/Fail testing on EKG and Pharmacology administered during orientation (2 attempts allowed each)
  • Medication and competency exams required as applicable

Additional Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID must be carried during hours of service
  • Two professional references required within 2 years of start date
  • Employment application and skills checklist must be completed and updated annually
  • Facility issues radiation badges if applicable

Notes

  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront with application; late requests likely will not be approved
  • Candidates must be nicotine-free; negative nicotine (cotinine) test required
  • Modules and onboarding process may take multiple days; candidates should prioritize completion to avoid delays
  • Floating assignments may be required within the scope of practice to meet facility needs
