Job Description

• Provide respiratory and neuro diagnostic care with a focus on adult critical care and emergency department patients.
• No on-call duties.
• Use of specialized respiratory equipment including Hamilton G5, PB 980, Respironics V60, Optiflow, Lumis tx, Cough Assist, Vest, and IPV.
• Scrub color required: Dark Grey.
• Return-to-Office (RTO) requests must be approved by the facility.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Pennsylvania.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year.
• Current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Experience in Adult Critical Care.
• Experience in Emergency Department (ED) settings.

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Comprehensive background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, including:

  • SSN Trace
  • County, State, Nationwide Criminal Search
  • Sex Offender Search
  • PA PATCH (state police search)
  • Education Verification
  • DMV check if driving is essential
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire.
• Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprint results required within 90 days of start.
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required within 90 days of start.
• Pennsylvania Medicheck Search required within 30 days of start.
• PA PATCH Search Results required within 90 days of start.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 2 months of start.
• Fit test for respirator use (annual clearance required starting 04/07/2025).
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (QGold or T-Spot within 90 days or 2 PPDs with one within 90 days)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or vaccination series.
  • Hepatitis B: Positive antibody titer or completed vaccine series (declinations not accepted).
  • Varicella: Positive titer or vaccination series.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required.
• COVID-19 vaccination or signed declination with facility-specific form.
• Negative drug screen (10-panel or 9-panel without THC) within 60 days of start.
• Annual updates not required for most health documents except respirator clearance.

Competency and Testing Requirements

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (for RRTs) within 12 months of start.
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam within 12 months of start.
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for all RNs and LVNs except certain specialties; relevant for RRTs as clinical staff.
• National certification/verification prior to facility start and upon expiration.
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required annually.

Documentation and Administrative Requirements

• Minimum of 2 professional references from employment within 12 months of start.
• Complete employment application including 7 years of work history with explanations for gaps over 90 days.
• Education, license, and certification verification prior to start.
• Photo for badge (forward-facing, color, no hats/masks, taken within last 6 months) required for new candidates starting 3/31/2025 or later.
• Facility-specific affidavits and declination forms (if applicable) must be completed prior to start.

Additional Notes

• Local pay rate is $5 less than standard (not included here per instructions).
• Even though no prior travel experience is required, candidates must meet all licensing and certification requirements.
• Background checks and health documents have specific expiration and upload requirements.
• Candidates must comply with all facility and state-specific screening and clearance processes.
