Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech
Location
- Toledo, Ohio

- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Day shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5 days a week, 40 hours/week)
- Saturday PET rotation: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- On-call rotation every 4th week (Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of PET/CT experience preferred or PET/CT advanced registry eligible
- Prior travel experience is not required (first-time travelers accepted)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year
- Current ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Job Responsibilities
- Operate nuclear medicine and PET/CT equipment and related instrumentation
- Make imaging decisions regarding technique, positioning, and radiation protection
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals under Radiologist supervision and document accordingly
- Maintain sterile technique and prevent cross-contamination
- Properly label images and maintain necessary records for interpretation
- Rotate within the department performing exams in both acute care hospital and outpatient clinical settings
Certifications and Competencies
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA only) required
- Unit-specific competency exams required and must be current
- Documentation of hospital-required and unit-specific competencies must be met
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during work hours
- Background check within one year of start, updated annually, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks completed by compliance team
- Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities Online Abuser Registry search required
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; re-screen if gap >6 months between assignments
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required annually)
- Fit mask test (N95) required within 12 months of start, updated annually (exceptions apply)
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or documented: Tdap (within 10 years), MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer), Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer), Hepatitis B (titer or series or signed declination), annual TB screening (2-step PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT), annual TB questionnaire
- Seasonal flu vaccine required for clearance (declinations not accepted)
- COVID vaccination preferred but not required
Documentation and Onboarding
- Employment application required
- Verification of last 3 years of employment and 2 professional references within 2 years
- Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually
- Radiation badge provided for candidates working in Cath Lab unit (if applicable)
- Completion of facility-specific onboarding documents and attestations required prior to start
- Candidate must review and sign facility policies including drug-free workplace, standards of conduct, ethics, and expected behaviors before start date
