Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech
Location: San Juan Capistrano, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 10 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night shift, 3 days per week (Monday through Wednesday)
- Hours: 15 hours per week (3 shifts of 5 hours each, 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM)
- Patient Age Groups: Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in California
- Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Radiologic Technologist Certification
- Experience working as an X-Ray Technician
- Experience in an outpatient setting
Required Skills and Procedures
- Adult and Pediatric Outpatient imaging
- Abdomen (decubitus, supine/KUB, upright)
- Chest (AP, lateral decubitus, routine)
- Extremities: ankle, calcaneus, femur, foot, knee, patella, tibia-fibula, toes
- Trauma imaging for lower and upper extremities
- Spine: cervical, lumbar, thoracic, sacrum/coccyx
- Pelvis, hip, AC joints, elbow, forearm, hand, humerus, scapula, shoulder, thumb/finger, wrist
- Trauma shoulder/humerus (Scapular Y, transthoracic axial)
Required Documentation and Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Emergency Contact Form
- Background Checks including:
- Standard 7-year search (SS Trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender registry)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM
- HHS/OIG
- Drug Testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year (excluding marijuana panel due to California restrictions)
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start date
- N95 Fit Mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (no onsite fit testing provided)
- Immunizations and Titers:
- TDAP within last 10 years (declination allowed)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low/equivocal titer)
- Hepatitis B Surface Antibody titer (declination allowed if low/equivocal)
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (declination allowed if low/equivocal)
- TB Screening: Negative QGOLD, TSPOT, or 2-step PPD within 1 year, updated annually; chest x-ray required if positive test
- Annual TB Questionnaire
- Seasonal Flu Vaccine (required November 1 - April 30; declination allowed with masking)
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred
Competency and Training Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Color Blindness Testing (annual)
- Competency Exam relevant to specialty (within 2 years)
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing (not required for Per Diem)
- Facility-specific training modules including:
- HIPAA Compliance
- EPIC Education Certificate of Completion
- YouLearn Modules
- Annual internal evaluation if employed for 1 year or more
