Description
Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (Travel)
Location: Paris, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel
Facility & Unit Overview
- 154-bed hospital, Level 3 Trauma Center
- Level 1 NICU and Advanced Primary Stroke Care Center
- Joint Commission Accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI
- Top 5% nationally for orthopedic outcomes
- Labor & Delivery unit with 9 beds
- Patient population: all ages
- Patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:3
- Equipment used: EFM, IV pump, NIBP
- Electronic Health Records: GE Centricity, Meditech
Position Details
- Role: Registered Nurse, Labor & Delivery specialty
- Number of openings: 1
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend hours: Every other weekend / as needed
- Call requirements: As needed
- Float requirements: As needed
- Must be proficient and independent in labor management
- Common diagnoses/treatments: labor, pre-term labor, vaginal delivery, cesarean section, pregnancy complications
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Required certifications prior to start:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Hospital Workplace Certification (HWC)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Experience with labor management, circulating cesarean sections, and OB triage
Work Environment & Culture
- Professional, upbeat, motivated, and self-assured personality fit preferred
- Dress code: Hospital-provided scrubs; unnatural hair colors and casual wear are not acceptable
Additional Information
- Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
- Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
- Housing options include Airbnb and local hotels with possible hospital discounts
- Paris, TX offers a low cost of living, historic downtown, and a quiet, small-town atmosphere near the Texas-Oklahoma border
