Description
Registered Nurse (Med Surg/OB) - South Dakota
Location
- Chamberlain, South Dakota
Contract Length
- 13 weeks

Schedule
- 36 hours per week
- 12-hour shifts
- Day/Night rotation
- Every other weekend and holiday required
- 3 call shifts required during the 13-week contract
Unit Details
- 25 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: Typically 3-4 patients per nurse in Med/Surg, depending on census and acuity
- Floating between Med Surg and OB units
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years RN experience
- At least 6 months Med Surg experience in the past year
- At least 6 months OB experience in the past year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required before start)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification (required before start)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification (required)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification (preferred)
- Able to function independently in the ER and Med Surg unit managing up to 5 patients
Skills and Equipment
- Experience with computerized charting and medication systems including Sanford One Charge and Pyxis
- EPIC computer training provided
- 1 day of OB training and 1 day of Med Surg training provided
Dress Code
- Navy blue scrubs (no logos)
- White clothing or lab coat may be worn under uniform
Additional Notes
- All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
- Candidates who have previously worked for the facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
- Candidates should indicate if time off is required during the assignment and provide dates in comments
