Job Opportunity: CT Technologist
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Job Summary
- Operate CT equipment (CT scanner, power injector, laser printer, patient monitoring devices) to acquire diagnostic images for physician use.
- Ensure proper patient preparation, positioning, immobilization, and use of protective shielding.
- Perform venipuncture for contrast administration under radiologist direction.
- Float among radiology clinics and divisions as needed.
- Calibrate and verify equipment operation daily; report malfunctions.
- Complete Radiology Information System tasks (scheduling, exam completion, image transfer).
- Maintain patient confidentiality and professional conduct.
- Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and maintain continuing education units (CEUs) per Massachusetts licensure and ARRT requirements.
- May oversee and instruct students and other personnel.
- Participate in quality assurance, research, and quality improvement projects.
- Provide on-call coverage and flexible shift/overtime support.
- Transport and transfer patients following departmental guidelines.
- Use independent judgment and initiative during patient exams.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Massachusetts
- Minimum of 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross
- Registered Technologist (CT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Experience with Siemens CT equipment
Required Credentials & Compliance (Must be completed prior to or upon onboarding)
- Professional license and certification primary source verification (no conditional licenses accepted).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military accepted).
- ARRT certification.
- Recent color photo (plain background, no filters or eyeglasses).
- Fit Test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date; updated annually.
- Respirator Medical Clearance attestation (if fit test required).
- Tuberculosis (TB) screening: documentation of TB skin test or negative blood test within 3 months of start date; updated if break >6 months.
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination documentation or proof of immunity.
- Physician health statement within 365 days of start date; updated if break >6 months.
- Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start; updated if break >6 months.
- Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start; updated if break >6 months.
- National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start; updated annually.
- Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start; updated annually.
- Education verification of highest level achieved.
- Social Security Number trace as part of background check.
- Submission of resume covering past 7 years with city and state for all work and education.
- Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor.
- Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission.
- Candidate submission coversheet for initial assignment.
- Confirmation of assignment/POI form upon acceptance and for extensions.
- Background documentation for any legal name changes if applicable.
Additional Information
- Must be flexible to rotate among departments, divisions, and off-site clinics.
- Responsible for preparing equipment rooms and supplies.
- Expected to participate in departmental harmony and cooperation.
- May be required to transport and transfer patients safely.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity environment requiring advanced CT skills, trauma experience, and Siemens equipment proficiency during night shifts.
