Registered Nurse - MedSurg

Location: Goldsboro, North Carolina

Hours: 12 hours per day, 48 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients with complex medical and psychosocial needs, including bedside point of care testing.
• Assess patient readiness to learn and use appropriate patient education materials.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and plan patient care.
• Organize and prioritize care based on patient and family needs.
• Participate in unit goals, performance improvement, and promote cost-effective care.
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs, supporting patient and family advocacy.
• Apply healthcare standards, policies, and procedures in care delivery.
• Engage in professional growth activities and intra/interdepartmental collaboration.
• Utilize effective communication systems and address cultural and ethnic considerations in care planning.
• Stay informed on relevant research and apply findings to practice.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers (AHA or ARC).
• Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited school of nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of MedSurg nursing experience.
• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing.
