Job Summary
Perform Ultrasound procedures to obtain imaging results according to physician specifications. Responsibilities include patient transfer for examinations, assisting with ultrasound exams, operating ultrasound imaging equipment, and submitting images for radiologist interpretation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate ultrasound imaging and related equipment appropriately
- Educate, position, and immobilize patients for ultrasound procedures
- Coordinate ultrasound exams to ensure timeliness, quality, and continuity of care
- Follow provider imaging orders accurately
- Evaluate image quality and submit required images and clinical information to radiologists
- Communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, radiologists, and leadership
- Utilize and maintain department supplies properly
- Practice sterile technique and follow infection prevention policies
- Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines safely, including patient transfers
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, including vascular sonography
- Recent Ultrasound Technologist experience within the last year
- ARDMS certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate’s degree
