Surgical Tech (CVOR Tech) - Travel Contract in Washington
Location
- Silverdale, Washington

- 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position in a hospital CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) unit with 4 suites.
- Handles 22-45 cases per day across CVOR and Cath lab specialties.
- Cath lab nurses run wires; CVOR circulating nurse on standby for vascular cases.
- Robotics experience preferred but not required; training available for Da Vinci XI robotic system.
- Typical cases include standard cardiac, caths, vascular, and thoracic procedures.
- Scrubbing preferred but not required for Surgical Techs.
- Floating between CVOR and Main OR possible, depending on experience.
- Shift options: Monday through Friday, 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts with varied start times; block scheduling allowed.
- One-week floor-specific orientation provided.
- Call requirements include 8-9 call days per month with 30-minute response time; weekend and holiday call covered by rotation.
- Call shifts start at 9 PM and end at 6:30 AM the next day; weekend call includes 12-hour day, 12-hour night, and 24-hour backup shifts.
- Charge nurse covers both Main and CVOR units.
- EMR system used: EPIC.
- Scrub color and supplies provided.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CVOR Tech.
- Active Washington state license for CVOR Tech required; pending license holders may submit.
- BLS certification required.
- COVID-19 vaccination required.
Additional Information
- Housing may be difficult; employer willing to work with block scheduling.
- Robotics training available for those without prior experience.
- Call coverage includes after-hours surgeon on call.
- Weekend and holiday coverage included in call rotation.
