Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location

• Hagerstown, Maryland

Employment Type

• Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• Night shift, 4 days per week (Thursday to Sunday)
• 12-hour shifts (18:30 to 7:00)
• Guaranteed 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekend requirement: Thursday through Saturday set schedule

Specialty & Experience

• Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• Required years of experience: 3 years (higher end of 2-3 years range)
• Must have Pediatric and Level 2 NICU experience
• First-time travelers accepted
• Prior travel experience not required

Licensure & Certifications

• Maryland Respiratory Therapist License required
• CRT or RRT certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred but not mandatory
• EPIC system experience required

Job Duties & Requirements

• Floating within scope of practice may be required to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirement
• Locals accepted with approval
• Block scheduling not accommodated

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Copy of valid Driver’s License (must match state of compact license if applicable)
• Proof of E-Verify or Attestation
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, sex offender registry, and federal exclusions (updated annually)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (specific approved mask types)
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start date
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with annual updates)
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (vaccination, positive titer, or declination)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start date
• Seasonal flu vaccination required (no declinations accepted)
• Proof of 2 clinical references
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
• Annual NIH Stroke Certification (AHA or APEX) required except for Pediatrics, OB, and Labor & Delivery units

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Maryland
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Recent Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Experience working with Pediatric patients
• Experience with Epic system

Additional Notes

• Fingerprinting (Maryland CJIS/DSS/FBI) required for school placements only
• Performance evaluation required if previously worked with the facility for over 1 year
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required
