Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuro Critical Care Unit

Unit Information
- Unit: Neuro Critical Care
- Number of beds: 10
- Patient ratios: 1:1, 1:2, 1:3
- Patient types: Ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, post-op craniotomy, seizures, encephalopathy, neurologic tumors
- Equipment used: Alaris Pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, EV 1000, Neuroptics Pupillometer
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Epic
Position Details
- Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Specialty: Neurosurgical and Neurological Intensive Care
- Number of openings: 1 (0.9 FTE)
- Shift options: Days or Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend commitment: Every other weekend
- Call requirements: None
- Floating: Required to float to other inpatient areas when home unit census is low
Required Certifications and Licenses
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including at least 1 year within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Experience caring for hemodynamically unstable patients
- Experience caring for mechanically ventilated patients
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Pupillometer, External Ventricular Drain (EVD), Intracranial Pressure (ICP) waveform management
- Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
- Epic EMR proficiency
