Description

Surgical Technician (Traveler)

Location: Woonsocket, Rhode Island
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Role: Surgical Technician in the Operating Room (OR) / Perioperative float
  • Schedule:
    • Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (5 shifts per week, 8 hours each)
    • On-call every 2-3 weekdays from 3:30 PM – 7:30 AM
    • On-call 48 hours every 2-3 weekends (7:30 AM Saturday to 7:30 AM Monday)
  • Must be able to float to appropriate units as needed
  • Must be able to arrive at the hospital within 30 minutes when called in
  • Weekly hours: 40

Required Experience & Skills

  • Experience with DaVinci robotic surgical system
  • Experience in C-Sections

Required Qualifications & Certifications

  • Surgical Technician with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
  • Experience on DaVinci robot
  • Experience in C-Sections

Health & Compliance Requirements

  • COVID-19 vaccination
  • MMR: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer showing immunity
  • Hepatitis B: Record of 3 immunizations, immune titer, or declination (declinations not accepted in some locations)
  • Influenza vaccine or declination (required October 1 – May 31; declinations not accepted in some locations)
  • Tuberculosis (TB) test
  • Varicella vaccination or titer showing immunity
  • Tdap vaccination (declinations not accepted in Rhode Island)
  • Annual respirator fit test (specific mask types accepted; must be completed prior to start if not done onsite)
  • Physical/health statement annually, stating clearance to work (must be completed within 60 days of start)

  • National criminal background check within one year of start date (some state-specific exceptions apply)
  • Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9 or agency attestation)
  • Driver’s license, state ID, or passport
  • Drug screening (minimum 10-panel test; specific requirements for California locations)
  • Prime agency attestation and education verification
  • Prime reference checks (2 required)
  • Prime resume submission
  • Prime SAM/EPLS verification
  • Prime facility documents as required
  • Prime color-blind test (Relias accepted)
  • Prime specialty exam and core competencies exam (minimum 80% score)
  • Prime skills checklist completion
  • Prime drug screening and health history documentation
  • Name verification affidavit if discrepancies exist
