Description
Registered Nurse - Endoscopy
Location: Goldsboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours: 9 hours/day, 36 hours/week
Schedule:
- Monday and Tuesday: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Any combination of Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Job Summary
Provide competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process. Work primarily in the Endoscopy and Pulmonary suite, serving both inpatient and outpatient populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver care to patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
- Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
- Organize and prioritize patient care, consulting resources for complex cases and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and plan patient care.
- Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
- Participate in professional growth activities and unit performance improvement.
- Communicate effectively to ensure continuity of care and cost-effective practices.
- Recognize and synthesize complex patient data to determine care priorities.
- Address cultural and ethnic considerations in care planning.
- Support patient and family education and advocacy.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of Endoscopy nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing school.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA).
Work Environment & Additional Details
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2.
- Anesthesia coverage available for sedation.
- Position requires working in a hospital setting with both inpatient and outpatient populations.
