Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
Location: Ottumwa, Iowa
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Emergency Department RN position in a regional health center with 217 licensed beds.
- Patient population primarily adults and geriatrics.
- Unit has 17 beds with a patient ratio of 1:6, averaging 40 visits per day.
- Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM.
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36 or 48 (candidate to specify preference).
- Call coverage required 24/7 to support daily volume.
- Electronic Health Record system: MediTech.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa.
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year.
- Experience in an Acute Care setting.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Certifications required:
- BLS issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
- Experience in similar-sized emergency departments.

- Call coverage is an essential part of the role.
- The facility offers a variety of services including ED, Critical Care, Med/Surg, Acute Rehab, OB, Pediatrics, Cath Lab, Diagnostics, Radiology, Wound Care, Pain Clinic, Sleep Lab, and Pathology.

- Drug test and certifications must be current and verifiable.
