Unit Description
- 30-bed adult inpatient unit caring for patients with malignant hematologic disorders
- Includes stem cell transplant and CAR-T infusions
- Involvement with multiple research protocols
- Day/Night rotations every 2 weeks
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) nursing experience within the last year
- UHS ONC certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Health and Immunization Compliance
- COVID-19 vaccine preferred but not required (medical or religious exemption allowed)
- Positive MMR titers within last 15 years or appropriate booster protocol
- Positive Varicella titers within last 15 years or appropriate booster protocol
- Tdap vaccination within last 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B series completed or signed declination form accepted (no childhood vaccines allowed)
- Annual 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with negative results within last 6 months; if positive, clear chest X-ray and current TB questionnaire required
- Fit test for N95 respirators completed within 1 year prior to start and updated annually
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start confirming ability to work without restrictions
- Influenza vaccine required during flu season (October-March) or completion of specific masking and declination forms if declined
Background and Verification Requirements
- Completed I-9 attestation confirming eligibility to work
- Social Security trace (if not included in background check) within 1 year of start
- Ohio fingerprints and criminal background checks (BCI&I and FBI as applicable) with attestation allowed if pending results
- Education verification through third-party (including equivalency for international education)
- Employment verification for last 5 years through third-party
- Criminal background check within 6 months including national sex offender registry
- OIG exclusion check within 6 months prior to start
- SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC clearance within 6 months prior to start
- Drug screen within 60 days prior to start (10-panel, lab report required; instant screens not accepted)
- National database criminal background check for Ohio residents to meet fingerprint requirements
Skills and Competency Requirements
- Completion of clinical skills checklist within 1 year prior to start (one-time requirement)
- Competency exam for relevant department with minimum 80% score within 1 year prior to start (one-time requirement)
- Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics with minimum 80% score within 1 year prior to start (one-time requirement)
- Completion of required safety and compliance training modules prior to clearance; renewal annually

- Submission packet must include resume (education and work history), two professional references from last 2 years, completed job application, and employment history form
- Non-expired photo ID (driver’s license or state ID) required
