Respiratory Therapist Position - Des Moines, Iowa

Job Details

• Location: Des Moines, Iowa
• Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x 12-hour night shifts)
• Schedule: Every 3rd weekend required, no on-call duties

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Iowa
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Health and Safety Requirements

• Fit Test
• COVID-19 Vaccine (including booster by September 2025) or approved declination/exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL)
• MMR (proof of 2 vaccinations or IgG titer)
• Hepatitis B vaccination series (proof of initiation required prior to start)
• Influenza Vaccine (optional)
• 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with chest x-ray if positive (per regional requirements)
• Varicella vaccination or IgG titer proof
• Physical/Health Statement confirming fitness to work (exam within last year)
• 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC)

Professional and Compliance Requirements

• Signed Code of Conduct form
• Completed I-9 form
• Confidentiality and Information System Security Agreement
• Integrity and Audit Services Form (signed shortly before start)
• Non-Employee Upload Form (specific to Iowa location)
• Specialty Specific Competency Testing (completed within last year)
• Criminal Background Check (federal, nationwide, county for last 7 years, including SSN verification, dated within 30 days of start)
• Education Verification (highest academic degree or diploma verified)
• Exclusion and Sanctions Checks (EPLS, OIG, OFAC) dated within 30 days of start
• Joint Commission CORE Exam (within last year)
• National Sex Offender Registry check and Iowa-specific abuse registries check (within 30 days prior to start)
