Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Night Shift) - Maryland
Position Details
- Job Title: ER Registered Nurse
- Location: Randallstown, Maryland
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Nights (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Contract Length: 14 weeks
- Work Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday
- Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:6 depending on unit
- Unit Highlights:
- Primary Stroke Center (Gold Plus with American Heart Association)
- STEMI cases will transfer if catheterization intervention is needed
- Two locked ED units for Behavioral Health care (ratio 1:6), supported by ED staffing and security
- Two rapid evaluation units for urgent and critical care needs with rapid medical screenings
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current certifications issued by the American Heart Association:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

- First-time travelers accepted for this assignment
- Prior travel experience: Not required
- Work environment: Includes behavioral health locked units and rapid evaluation units within the ED
- Security: Supported by dedicated ED staffing and security team
- Orientation: Includes EKG study guides and remediation process if needed
- Compliance: Timely completion of labs and documentation by Monday prior to start is critical to ensure on-time start
- References: Two professional references within 2 years of start required (can be direct supervisor references)
- Employment verification: Required for two workplaces within last 7 years (W2 or supervisor references accepted)
This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work in a high-acuity emergency department with specialized stroke and behavioral health units, supporting critical and urgent care needs during night shifts.
