Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Critical Care
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Job Description: Direct patient care in a critical care setting
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
- NIHSS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccine series or approved medical/religious exemption (preferred, not required)
- Positive MMR titers within the last 15 years; booster protocol applies if low titer
- Positive Varicella titers within the last 15 years; booster protocol applies if low titer
- Tdap vaccination within the last 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Proof of full series, partial series with signed declination, or positive titer within 15 years
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with negative results within last 6 months; annual requirement
- Fit Test for N95 respirators completed within 1 year prior to start; updated annually
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start confirming ability to work without restrictions
- Influenza vaccine proof required during flu season (October–March) or completion of specific masking and declination forms
Background and Verification Requirements
- Completed I-9 or attestation of eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Social Security Trace (if not included in background check) within 1 year of start
- Criminal background check within 6 months of start, including:
- Social Security Trace
- County searches for last 7 years
- National criminal sweep including sex offender registry
- International background check if not U.S. resident for past 5 years
- Ohio fingerprinting requirements:
- If resident ≥5 years: Ohio BCI&I and FCRA-compliant national database check
- If resident <5 years: Ohio BCI&I and FBI fingerprint check (FCRA-compliant)
- Attestation allowed if fingerprints pending, with proof of completion
- OIG Exclusion Search within 6 months prior to start
- SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC screening within 6 months prior to start
- Employment verification for last 5 years through third-party verification (no attestations)
- Education verification through third-party (international equivalency required if applicable)
- Drug screen within 60 days prior to start (10-panel, lab report required; instant screens not accepted)
- Driver’s license or state ID (non-expired photo ID)
- Badge photo (headshot, shoulders up, plain background, JPEG format)
Skills and Competency Requirements
- Skills checklist specific to clinical area completed within 1 year prior to start (one-time requirement)
- Competency exam for relevant department with minimum 80% score within 1 year prior to start (one-time requirement)
- Core competencies completed within 1 year prior to start with minimum 80% score, including HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics (one-time requirement)
- Completion of required safety and compliance training modules prior to clearance; annual renewal required

- Two professional references within the last 2 years

- Employment history form confirming previous employment at the health system (if applicable)
This position requires a dedicated critical care RN prepared to provide direct patient care during night shifts in a long-term assignment. All licensure, certifications, health, and background requirements must be met prior to start.
