Description
Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health (Travel)
Location: Ottumwa, Iowa
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
Hours per Week: 36 or 48 (weekly guaranteed)
Number of Openings: 1
Patient Population: Adults (18-65) with behavioral health conditions including anxiety, depression, manic disorders, borderline personality disorder, and suicidal ideation
Unit Details:
- Behavioral Health Unit (BHU)
- 14 beds, average daily census around 7
- Patient ratio approximately 1:6
- Electronic Health Record system: MediTech
- May require floating within a 25-mile radius of the facility
- No call requirements
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
- Minimum 2 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification
Additional Information
- Dress code: Scrubs (no unacceptable attire specified)
- No weekend or call requirements
- The unit cares for adult behavioral health patients with a variety of psychiatric diagnoses
- The role may require flexibility to float to nearby locations within 25 miles

This position offers the opportunity to work in a well-established regional health center providing comprehensive behavioral health services within a multidisciplinary team.
