Description
Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse
Location: Jackson, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Day shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (8 hours per day, 40 hours per week)
- Call: 1 night per week from 2:30 PM until 6:00 AM the next morning
- Every 5th weekend: Saturday 7:00 AM until Monday 6:00 AM
- Possible holiday call
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) settings
- Must have broad knowledge and competency in surgical cases and procedures including but not limited to:
- CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)
- MVR, AVR, TVR (Mitral, Aortic, Tricuspid Valve Replacement)
- ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation)
- TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
- TCAR (TransCarotid Artery Revascularization)
- Impella insertion/removal
- Thoracic/Lung procedures
- Epic electronic health record experience within the last 12 months is required and must be explicitly documented in the candidate profile
- Clinician interview required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including:
- Social Security trace
- County, Nationwide, and FACIS Level 3 checks
- Sex offender registry
- International search if recently worked outside the US
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
- EPIC test-out required for all candidates (one attempt only; failure results in contract cancellation). Candidates may start with EPIC pending but must complete onsite testing.
- Appearance standards must be reviewed and signed prior to start
Additional Notes
- Locals and first-time travelers are accepted at the same rate
- Prior travel experience is not required
- Interview required before placement
