Description
Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health
Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Work in a Behavioral Health specialty within a hospital setting.
- Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- No call requirements
- Patient population: Adult behavioral health patients
- Common diagnoses include Schizophrenia, Dementia, Manic Bipolar Disorder, Psychosis, Dual Diagnosis, Medical Detox, Depression, and Anxiety Disorders
- Patient ratios vary by unit, generally ranging from 1 RN per 10-23 patients with CNA support
- Electronic Health Record system used: Cerner
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification or Handle With Care (HWC) certification (CPI preferred; training available if needed)
