Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Hagerstown, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week (Friday to Sunday), 12 hours per shift (18:30 - 7:00)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Job Description
- Position requires working Friday through Sunday on a fixed weekend schedule.
- Must have Pediatric and Level 2 NICU experience.
- Clinician may be required to float within their scope of practice to meet facility needs.
- EPIC electronic health record system experience is required.
- First-time travel therapists are accepted.
- Local candidates may be considered with approval.
- No on-call duties.
- Block scheduling accommodations are not available.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Maryland
- Minimum of 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with Pediatric patients
- Experience working with Neonate patients
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Copy of valid Driver’s License or State ID (must match state of license if compact license used).
- Proof of E-Verify or Attestation.
- Background checks including a 7-year criminal history, sex offender registry, and federal exclusions updated annually.
- Annual verification of EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusions.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date.
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start date; must be updated annually. Acceptable masks include 3M Aura 1870+ and others specified.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start.
- Negative TB test (Qgold, Tspot, or True 2-Step PPD) within 1 year of start; positive results require chest x-ray and TB questionnaire updated annually.
- Immunization or positive titer documentation for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (vaccination, positive titer, or declination accepted)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start.
- Seasonal flu vaccination is mandatory; no declinations or exemptions accepted.
- Proof of 2 clinical references.
- Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable.
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment or equivalent HIPAA/core testing.
- NIH Stroke Certification required for all units except Pediatrics, OB, and Labor & Delivery; must be updated annually.
- Fingerprinting (Maryland CJIS/DSS/FBI) required for school placements only.
Additional Notes
- Candidates must complete all required documentation and certifications prior to starting.
- Candidates with gaps in assignment dates over 30 days may need to update certain health documents.
- The facility requires strict adherence to vaccination and testing policies to maintain patient and staff safety.
This position offers a focused weekend night schedule with guaranteed hours and requires specialized pediatric and NICU respiratory therapy experience.
