Description
Operating Room Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide safe, age-appropriate patient care as part of the surgical team in the Operating Room.
- Serve as an advisor and resource for patients and their families.
- Work with a variety of surgical specialties including Trauma, ENT, Colorectal, Plastics, Neurosurgery, Surgical Oncology, Oral/Dental, Laparoscopic Procedures, Urology, Ophthalmology, GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Robotics, Vascular, Thoracic.
- Shift: 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, total 36 hours/week).
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland.
- Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience and proficiency in the following surgical specialties:
- ENT Surgery
- Colorectal Surgery
- Plastic Surgery
- Neurosurgery
- Laparoscopic Procedures
- Ophthalmology
- Orthopedics
- Robotics
Experience
- No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers are welcome.
- Required years of specialty experience not explicitly stated; proficiency in multiple surgical specialties is expected.
Additional Information
- Candidates must review and comply with the facility’s hand hygiene policy.
- Stroke CEUs must be completed annually; if none on file, must be completed prior to start or within one week after start.
- Trauma CEUs required after 27th week of work and must be renewed annually.
- EKG/medication competency exams are time-sensitive and must be passed within allowed attempts to avoid cancellation. Study guides will be provided.
- Physical and lab requirements must be completed by the Monday prior to start to ensure on-time onboarding.
- Drug screen must exclude Marijuana/THC from the panel.
- References: 2 professional references within 2 years of start required for travel acute care roles.
