Description

Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN Surgery)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Full-time 4x10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • Varied shift days within the schedule
  • Call required minimum of 1 week per contract and 1-2 weekend days per month (Saturday or Sunday)
  • Provide RN care to surgical patients at a Level III trauma center

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Ohio
  • Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health & Safety Requirements

  • COVID-19 vaccine preferred but not required; medical or religious exemptions accepted
  • MMR: Positive titers within last 15 years or booster protocol as specified
  • Varicella: Positive titers within last 15 years or booster protocol as specified
  • Tdap vaccination within last 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B: Proof of full series, partial series, or signed declination form (agency form accepted)
  • Influenza vaccine required during flu season (October–March) or must complete masking and declination forms
  • 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with negative results within last 6 months; annual requirement
  • Fit test for N95 respirators completed within 1 year prior to start and updated annually
  • Physical exam within 1 year prior to start confirming ability to work without restrictions

Background & Verification

  • Professional license and certification primary source verification within 30 days of start; reverified every 2 years with license renewal
  • Ohio fingerprint background check (BCI&I) and FBI fingerprint check if resident less than 5 years; attestation allowed if pending with proof of completion
  • Criminal background check within 6 months including social security trace, county searches (7 years), national sex offender registry
  • OIG exclusion check within 6 months prior to start
  • SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC screening within 6 months prior to start
  • Employment verification for last 5 years through third-party verification
  • Education verification through third-party; international education requires equivalency documentation
  • Drug screen within 60 days prior to start (10-panel, lab report required; instant screens not accepted)
  • Submission packet required: Resume, 2 professional references (within last 2 years), job application, and employment history form
  • Non-expired photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required
  • Badge photo (headshot, shoulders up, plain background) required

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
  • Attestations are generally not accepted except for fingerprint pending status with documentation
  • Some requirements are one-time upon initial hire and not annual (skills checklist, competency exam, core competencies, OIG check, SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC)
