RN-Physician Practice Nurse
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Days (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 40
Job Summary
Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital setting. Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to promote continuity and quality of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver care to patients with complex physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
- Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
- Assess patient and family readiness to learn; use appropriate patient education materials.
- Evaluate patient outcomes and participate in revising care plans as needed.
- Organize and prioritize care based on patient and family needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary resources for care planning and discharge preparation.
- Participate in unit goals, performance improvement, and cost-effective care initiatives.
- Promote a safe, clean, and secure environment.
- Communicate effectively within the healthcare team and with patients/families.
- Engage in professional growth activities and provide feedback to coworkers.
- Recognize and address cultural and ethnic considerations in patient care.
- Apply research findings to clinical practice.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience, with clinic experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited school.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited school.
- Experience in physician office, urgent care, or emergency department settings.
