Description
Registered Nurse - Cath Lab
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, rotating days)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver care to patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects.
- Perform bedside point of care testing as required.
- Organize and prioritize patient care based on patient and family needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate and plan patient care.
- Assess patient readiness to learn and use appropriate patient education materials.
- Anticipate discharge needs and assist in discharge planning.
- Participate in unit goals, performance improvement, and promote cost-effective care.
- Communicate effectively within the healthcare team and with patients/families.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
- Engage in professional growth activities and meet learning needs.
- Apply research findings to clinical practice.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited school of nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
- Demonstrated cultural competence in patient care.
- Ability to apply research findings to clinical practice.
Work Schedule & Additional Information
- Included in call rotation: one call weekend every 3rd weekend and 2 nights during the week.
- Shift length: 12 hours per day.
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing.
