Description
Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Travel Assignment
Location: Lafayette, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Specialty: Medical-Surgical (Med Surg)
- Employment Type: Travel
- Shift: Days, typically 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM (charge nurses may start at 5:30 AM and work until 6:00 PM)
- Weekend Shifts: Approximately 4 weekend shifts every 6 weeks, same hours as weekdays
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: Must be able to float to similar Med Surg units
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Observation
- Number of Beds: 16
- Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 5 patients
- Patient Population: Short stay patients, mostly ambulatory, undergoing tests, some on IV antibiotics, pre-surgical patients, chest pain rule-outs
- Equipment Used: Bladder scanner, EKG machine, Vein light, Vital Signs machine
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Epic
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Med Surg experience of at least 1 year, with experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
