Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room
Location: Manhattan, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Job Description
- Provide direct nursing care following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans; observe, record, and communicate patient conditions.
- Coordinate care among all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
- Execute physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with the healthcare team.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas.
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or MOAB High Risk De-Escalation training.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Valid Driver’s License.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Documentation of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted).
- Documentation of two Varicella vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted).
- Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement).
- Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes; if positive, negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire.
- Fit test for respiratory protection, preferably completed prior to start; updated annually.
- Annual statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment and updated annually.
- 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
Onboarding and Documentation
- Submission of professional resume/profile and at least two professional references prior to assignment.
- Completion of criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and other required screenings within 90 days prior to start.
- Employment and education verifications completed within 90 days prior to start; must be updated if break in service exceeds 90 days.
- Completion of onboarding education attestation and nursing contract worker onboarding modules.
- Submission of a forward-facing badge photo with white or blue background (no alterations).
- Completion of unit-specific checklists and skills checklists as required.

- Prior travel experience is not specified as a requirement.
- Contract length is 13 weeks.
