Radiation Therapist Travel/Contract Job in Pennsylvania
Location
- City: Allentown, Pennsylvania
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (5 days a week, 40 hours total)
- No weekend work required
- May float to a nearby hospital location
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiation Therapist
- Experience with Varian linear accelerators and Aria Record and Verify systems is required
- Preferred experience with RPM and AlignRT
- Skillset must include Varian TrueBeam, BrainLab exactrac, and GE CT simulator
Education & Licensure
- Degree or certificate in Radiation Therapy (or equivalent)
- ARRT (T) certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Prior Travel Experience
- First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience not required)
Required Certifications & Competencies
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in Pennsylvania
- Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
- ARRT (T) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Degree or certificate in Radiation Therapy, or an equivalent qualification
Background Checks & Compliance
- Comprehensive background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, including:
- SSN Trace
- County, State, Nationwide Criminal Search
- Sex Offender Search
- Education Verification
- Pennsylvania PATCH (state police) search
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
- Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprint clearance required within 90 days of start (all pages must be submitted)
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required within 90 days of start
- Pennsylvania Medicheck Search required within 30 days of start (not required for 100% remote non-clinical candidates)
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 2 months of start
- Fit test for respirator use (not required for 100% remote non-clinical candidates)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per guidelines (QGold or T-Spot within 90 days or 2 PPDs)
- Required immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (declinations not accepted)
- Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required for clinical staff
- COVID-19 vaccination required or signed declination with facility-specific form
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 60 days of start (9-panel without THC also acceptable)
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use starting 04/07/2025
Documentation & Verification
- Minimum of 2 professional references from employment within 12 months of start
- Complete employment application including 7 years of work history with explanations for gaps over 90 days
- Education and license verification prior to start
- National certification verification as applicable
- Signed acknowledgment of orientation safety manual and pass/fail testing (if applicable)
Additional Notes
- Candidate must comply with all facility-specific document requirements such as badge photo and provisional employment affidavit prior to start
- No weekend shifts required
- Floating to nearby hospital location may be required
